Road closure & parade info

The Fernie Chamber of Commerce & Griz Days Committee would like to advise the community of the parade route and associated temporary road closures and modifications in effect for Griz Days 2024 taking place from Thursday, February 29^th to Sunday, March 3^rd as approved by The City of Fernie. 

To support events taking place in Station Square please review the following road closures and times:

Thursday, Feb. 29^th 6AM to March 3^rd 12PM
– The Legion / Station Square parking lot will be closed. Any remaining vehicles will be towed.

Thursday, Feb. 29^th 10PM to March 3^rd 12PM
– 1^st Ave will be closed from 5^th Street to 6^th Street with limited vehicle access to this area. Businesses, residents and the public are asked not to park in Station Square and the downtown core for the duration of the festival. Any remaining vehicles will be towed.

Friday, March 1^st 10PM to Saturday, March 2^nd 8PM
– 2^nd Ave will be closed from 5^th Street to 6^th Street. Any remaining vehicles will be towed.

Saturday, March 2^nd 2PM to Saturday March 2^nd 8PM
– 2^nd Ave from 4^th Street to 13^th Street. Intersections of 9^th Street and 2nd Ave & 8th Street and 2nd Ave are partial closures which will allow the public to access Save-On-Foods and will be lifted as soon as the parade has passed.
