Got Griz Day Questions?

Check out our FAQs below!

Griz Days is a multi-day festival of fun-filled, family friendly events, activities, fundraising and entertainment. It is traditionally Fernie’s biggest winter event, embracing the entire community and surrounding area. Griz Days celebrates our community’s winter heritage and historical traditions, while paying tribute to the mythical creature the Griz – who lives in the Lizard Range and shoots powder snow from his musket!

A legendary mountain man raised by Grizzlies. We celebrate him every winter to bring epic pow to Fernie!

Griz Days is traditionally on the first weekend of March. This year, the event lands on March 1st, 2nd & 3rd, 2024.

Griz Days is proudly organized by the Fernie Chamber of Commerce

It is important to note that this event would not happen without the support of our volunteers, sponsors, local businesses, The City of Fernie and our amazing community!

Each year the Fernie Chamber of Commerce partners with the Fernie Rotary Club to sell commemorative Griz Pins. Pins go on sale the week of  February 3rd.

Pins are $4 each and numbers are limited. This year, proceeds from the pins will go to a local charity.

Why buy a Griz pin?

  • You could be the lucky winner of a $1,000 cash prize! The draw will be announced on  March 6th via social media channels for the lucky pin number!
  • A portion of the proceeds from Griz pin sales are distributed to local community groups or charities by the Fernie Rotary Club.
  • You could go to jail without a pin! That’s right! Sheriffs will be out to make sure everyone is wearing their pins the week before. You don’t want them to catch you without one!

Stay tuned for where to buy your pins!
