Do I have to pay?

 

The Fernie Griz Days winter festival is comprised of many events - most of which are free to the general public. There are a handful of Griz Days events and activities that are ticketed or have a registration fee, as below.

Key Events -  Free:

  • Griz Parade (spectator)

  • Ice Sculpture Display

  • Extreme Griz Competition (spectator)

  • Griz Bed Races (spectator)

  • Lumberjack Shows

  • Live Music and Beer Garden

  • Fireworks

  • Dummy Downhill (spectator)

Key Events - Ticketed or Registration Fee

  • Griz Pub Crawl =  $60 per person (+GST) - 19+ only

  • Extreme Griz Competition (participant) = $10 per person registration fee

  • Griz Bed Races (participant) = $10 per team registration fee

  • Griz Parade (participant) = $25 deposit per float/group

  • Griz Golf = $10 per person

 

Can I bring my dog?  

To the parade, yes if on a leash. But, no to most events. Service

animals are always welcome. 

Where are the events?

Individual events are held in various locations around Fernie and at Fernie Alpine Resort, as per the schedule. Most events are held at the following locations: 2nd Avenue in downtown Fernie, Station Square (1st Ave & 6th St), Rotary Park (6th Ave & 7th St), Community Centre (Hwy 3) or Fernie Alpine Resort. 

Who is the Griz? 

A legendary mountain man raised by Grizzlies who bring the powder 

to Fernie.
