Get In On The Action!
Watch out Fernie, Sheriff Shaz, and Sheriff Bull are out in town to make sure you have your Griz Days pins, otherwise, you’ll get thrown in jail!
These two sheriffs will be out at Fernie restaurants and events the week leading up to Griz Days and during Griz Days weekend. Make sure you're wearing your Griz pins, so they don’t lock you up!

Through this opportunity organizations and businesses are invited to “jail” and have one their employees/members to be one of Griz Most Wanted. The organization, with promotional and logistical support from the Griz Days Committee, will then raise money to pay “the bail” through various fundraising activities – the funds raised will be donated to a local non-profit organization of their choice.

A highlight of Fernie’s winter Griz Days festival, this competition features imaginative & hilarious “dummies” on skis launching themselves off a gigantic jump beside the Timber Chair. Dummies can be made from a variety of materials and creativity is stressed! Dummies are judged based on their construction, creativity, distance they fly off of the jump and the carnage factor when they land!!
Spectators and families LOVE this event and it is one not to miss!
